Objective |
- This project will be treated as an action research pilot with the target of providing a hospital service to middle, low income and people from slum areas. Existing government health care posts and hospitals are an uncomfortable environment for the user and they run in an unsustainable state. Private sector provision is more comfortable but aims at high profits. This gives an idea of the status quo situation in Bangladesh.
- To develop a dependable quality service package by the health centre, targeting urban poor and low income and middle income groups. In developing such a project DSH will remain sensitive to the fact that government facilities lacks dependability, are crowded and uncomfortable, whilst private facilities are beyond the financial means of low income people.
- DSH will be complementary to the activities run and operated by the PHC program of DSK.
- In operating the health centre, the project will maximize its focus on sustainability keeping due sensitivity to efficiency and affordability for the urban poor and low-income group.
