Services offered at the Hospital

Labour charge
When setting the rate for labour we considered the following issues: -

First of all we intended to attract low-income groups, particularly targeting those who are from slums.

DSH intends to offer a standard complete package service. Complete package means DSH will follow one woman from the very start of pregnancy to labour and ensure at least four check-ups during pregnancy and shortly after birth. As part of the service TT immunisation, minimum investigation (i.e. Hb %, urine R/M/E) and ensuring normal labour at the hospital (Three day stay at the hospital for monitoring) is provided. Pregnancies which required caesarean sections will require more monitoring.

In view of the above the following rates have been set: -

1. Normal labour ( Four check-ups, TT immunization, detection of Hb %, Blood glucose, Blood grouping and Urine routine investigation,  three day admission + conduct of  labour)  :      Tk 950

Operation charges
In calculating operation charges we first divided operation’s in three categories i.e. Major, Intermediate and minor. Examples are as follows: -

Major Procedures:

- All abdominal procedures
- Major orthopaedic surgery

Intermediate Procedures:

- Hernia
- Fissure
- Haemorrhoids

Minor Procedures:

- Cyst
- Abscess drainage
- Skin Grafting

Surgeons shall decide categories of operations on cases by case basis
