Objective of this project is to strengthen capacities of small/marginal farmer organizations representing most deprived communities in South/South East Asia (S&SEA), to engage and impact local, national and regional policy dialogue on food and nutrition security (F&NS).
The project is funded by DanChurchAid (DCA) and implemented in two sub-districts (Durgapur and Kalmakanda) of Netrakona district. Main activities in the bygone period were to recruit and train staff and organize farmers groups in this two sub- districts. Target number of HHs is 19, 699 and 100 farmers group have been formed having 2555 members. Initially, a sub- district level meeting was organized to disseminate objectives and information about the project. In the bygone period, about 147 village-level courtyard meetings were organized and farmers were sensitized about their rights, government Food security policy, rules and procedures; identification of food insecure
groups, indigenous farming practices, agriculture technologies and importance of establishing a right to food network in this area. Staffs were provided ToT on social Audit, case documentation and policy gap analysis. Apart from that, a district-level farmers training was organized to sensitize farmers to strengthen their own organization, why right to food has been violated, understanding five pillars of Food Security
