Non-formal primary education program has gained good momentum in the reported period. Apart from BRAC supported NFPE program, DNFPE has supported operation of five hundred (500) non-formal schools (1999) in different thanas of Gazipur, Narsingdi Netrakona, Mymensingh, Kishorganj, Rajshahi, Chittagong and Dhaka districts. Geographically, one of the difficult places in implementation of this program was Modan in Netrakona district. Besides, it was observed that where we have other ongoing programs or branches in such places, management of NFE program was comfortable. However, average attendance in government supported schools reached the level of twenty-six, and, in BRAC supported schools, it achieved the level of twenty-nine. DSK was also selected as one of the twenty-six NGO organisations as implementer of the Pilot Continuing Education project by NFE.
