On 05 March 2026, the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA), with support from Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK), organized a public hearing at the Comrade Moni Singh Memorial Museum auditorium in Durgapur, Netrokona.
A total of 50 DSK borrowers participated in the event, sharing their experiences, feedback, and recommendations regarding microcredit services. Key issues raised included interest rate reduction, installation of deep tube wells in hilly areas, legal support for indigenous communities on land rights, grants for injured or affected members, and the introduction of a grace period in agricultural loans.
The event was attended by MRA Executive Vice Chairman Professor Dr. Mohammed Helal Uddin, along with other senior officials of MRA. Representatives from DSK, including Executive Director Dr. Dibalok Singha, were also present.
In his remarks, Dr. Dibalok Singha highlighted that DSK provides loans to support client development through funds collected from banks and PKSF. He appreciated MRA’s initiative to engage directly with clients at the field level.
Professor Dr. Helal Uddin addressed participants’ queries and spoke about rationalizing service charges, increasing savings interest rates, and enhancing customer benefits through welfare funds. He also commended DSK for its contributions to microcredit and broader social development initiatives.
