The buildings were built with funding from the German donor agency KNH. Three two-storied multi-purpose school buildings in Barguna, Bagerhat and Khulna have been built. During natural calamities, these buildings shall be used as cyclone or flood shelters. As a result, about seven hundred fifty families in these three areas will be able to use these buildings as safe shelters at the time of any future disaster. The shelters have been handed over to the school authorities after the completion of construction work.
