On 20 September 2026, Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK) organised a memorial meeting at its Head Office, Building-1, in memory of Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Abdullah, former President of DSK’s Executive Committee, distinguished jute scientist, and freedom fighter.

The programme began with a minute of silence and the laying of a floral wreath in his memory. DSK Deputy Director (Administration) Aslam Khan presented a brief overview of his remarkable life and legacy. A documentary highlighting his life, work and contributions was also screened, leaving those present deeply moved.

Tributes and personal reflections were shared by DSK Director (Health) Dr. Mahmudur Rahman, University of Dhaka Prof. Mahfuza Akter, former colleagues Bikash Saha and Dr. Anisur Rahman Siddiqui.

The gathering also heard heartfelt recollections from DSK Executive Committee member Shahina Hossain; General Body members Md. Jasim Uddin and Muhammad Emdadul Haque; former DSK CEO Dr. Masudul Kader; Executive Director Dr. Dibalok Singha; Secretary General Prof. Dr. A. S. M. Golam Mortuza; and Executive Committee President Prof. Dr. Nur Mohammad Talukder.

Representing the bereaved family, his son Mukit Abdullah and brother Md. Taherullah were present. They shared their memories and reflections on different aspects of Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Abdullah’s life and professional journey.

The memorial meeting was attended by staff members from DSK’s Head Office, hospital, and various branches.

The programme was moderated by DSK Director (Microfinance) Md. Shamsul Alam.

Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Abdullah was a beloved and respected figure who shared a long-standing relationship of trust with DSK. His contributions, dedicated life, and enduring legacy will remain deeply cherished and respectfully remembered by the DSK family for years to come.
