A memorial meeting was held June 23, 2026 at DSK Head Office Building-1 in remembrance of our esteemed Chair Council of Advisors, Barrister Shafique Ahmed, a distinguished lawyer and former Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh. The program began with a one-minute silence and the laying of floral tributes as a mark of profound respect for the departed leader. Mr. Aslam Khan, Deputy Director (Administration) of DSK, then presented a brief biography highlighting Barrister Shafique Ahmed’s remarkable life and contributions. A documentary showcasing his life and achievements was screened, leaving the audience deeply moved.
Tributes were delivered by Dr. Mahmudur Rahman, Director (Health), DSK Hospital; Muhammed Emdadul Haque, General Body Member; Dr. Dibalok Singha, Executive Director of DSK; Professor Dr. A.B.M. Abdullah, Former President of DSK; Professor Dr. A.S.M. Golam Mortuza, Secretary General; and Dr. Nur Mohammad Talukdar, President of the Executive Committee. They reflected on his outstanding leadership, wisdom, integrity, and invaluable contributions to DSK and the nation.
Representing the family, Barrister Mahbub Shafique shared his heartfelt reflections and expressed gratitude for the respect and affection shown towards his late father.
The memorial meeting was attended by a large number of staff members from DSK Head Office, DSK Hospital, and branch offices. The program also featured a poetry recitation by Sanjida Jahan Ashrafi and musical performances by Biplob Sarkar and Ratna Sarkar.
Barrister Shafique Ahmed’s wisdom, humanity, and visionary leadership will continue to inspire us in the years to come.
